With ripe tropical fruit and quince aromatics, and a rich silky palate, this has plenty to offer for not much moolah. Trebbiano as a grape variety can tend towards being insipid table wine, but the opulence of this one, grown in the Abruzzo on Italy's east coast, makes it a cut above.

Villa Barcaroli is owned and run by the Bartolomei family, who are based in the Marche. All of their estates, that extend to the regions of the Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio, Tuscany and Sicily, are managed organically.
