Rock Ferry Blanc de Blancs 2016
This is generously flavoured, mouth filling fizz made in the Champagne method from 100% Chardonnay. It’s savoury, powerful and impressive. Fruit from the Corner’s Vineyard in Marlborough is hand harvested and whole bunch pressed. The free run juice is fermented in stainless steel and season oak. After malolactic fermentation and bottling it was aged for 2 years before release.
Husband and wife team Tom Hutchison and Fiona Harvey established Rock Ferry having been contract grape growers in Marlborough. They have 4 vineyards, 3 in Marlborough and 1 in Bendigo, Central Otago, all of which are certified organic. Winemaking is in the hands of Allan McWilliams and Jordan Hogg.
