Over the years we’ve noticed there’s a consistent elegance to the wines of Puriri Hills, and this is no exception. Inspired by the wines of the right bank of Bordeaux, this is beautifully composed, with aromas of blackcurrant, plum and violets, layered with cedar, graphite and fine spice. Silky tannins and vibrant acidity give the wine both immediate appeal and great aging potential. From the estate’s north-facing clay slopes, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot were hand-harvested and vinified separately before extended maturation in French oak.

Inspired by the great wines of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, they have become one of New Zealand's benchmark producers of Merlot-based wines, all with elegance, longevity and meticulous craftsmanship.
