Foregoing its usual citrusy, light style, this is a fuller, richer expression of Vermentino. There’s a lovely aromatic intensity of apricot, white peach, wild herbs and citrus blossom, and the palate is textured and generous with a subtle mineral edge. Fruit comes from the calcareous and volcanic tufa soils of the estate’s hillside vineyards in coastal Maremma, Tuscany. It was fermented and aged in french oak for 5 months. 

The Mantellassi family has been making wine in Maremma for generations and is widely regarded as one of the pioneering producers responsible for raising the profile of this once-overlooked corner of Tuscany. Based near Magliano in Toscana, the family farms vineyards across some of the region's most prized sites, producing wines that capture the character of Maremma's sunshine, sea influence and diverse soils.
