Kenzie River Flow 2022
Brightly fruited, supple and fresh, this is a light red made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc. You might be accustomed to Hawke's Bay reds being big and brooding, but Dave from Kenzie challenges convention once again, and we love it. Fruit comes from Paritua’s organic vineyards. The Merlot is destemmed, the Cabernet Franc is whole bunch fermented. It’s aged in old oak barrels for 8 months.
After 15 successful years of winemaking in Australia, Dave MacIntosh is back in New Zealand reconnecting with the place he grew up, Hawkes Bay / Te Matau a Māui. Fruit for his first releases is sourced from 6 organic/sustainable vineyards from across the region. We love Dave’s willingness to challenge convention in terms of wine style, and his deft winemaking touch in delivering wines of vibrancy, energy and freshness.
