Halcyon Days Heliacal Rise 2022
Our favourite kiwi wine in this kind of style, this is a blend of Chardonnay that’s been on skins for two weeks, and Pinot Noir that’s pressed off on the day of picking. It’s got lovely flesh, like eating stone fruit. It’s floral and aromatic and an absolute to pleasure to drink.
Amy and Olly Hopkinson-Styles met while Amy was winemaking in Spain, and Olly was writing for Decanter Magazine in London. They were drawn back to New Zealand with Hawkes Bay in mind as a great place to make wine and bring up sprogs.
