Not just another plush Central Otago Pinot, this wine has the bright cherry aromatics you’d expect, but with earthy undertones and satisfying chew and vibrancy in the palate. It’s produced from estate grown, certified organic fruit, from newer parts of the vineyard with sandier soils. 

Through their love of Burgundy, and inspired by great domaines of that region, David and PM Hall-Jones founded Domaine Thomson in Lowburn, Central Otago in 2000. David passed away in 2024, but PM and her family remain committed to producing site specific wines with biodynamic and organic practices, with Dean Shaw as winemaker. They also produce wines in Burgundy. The estate is named after David’s great great grandfather, John Turnbull Thomson, who explored and mapped Central Otago in the 1850s. Surveyor Thomson, as he was known, named many prominent landmarks in the region including the Pisa Range where Domaine Thomson is located.
