Deep Down Blanc 2025
We love both the premise of this wine, and the taste of it. Rather than champion a particular variety, the fellas at Deep Down are championing the beautiful region they make wine in - Marlborough. The result is a harmonious dry white with pretty florals, green apple and stonefruit aromatics, a supple palate and fresh, balanced acidity. It happens to be made from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, but no variety shouts out excessively.
We’ve fallen deep for Deep Down wines. The partnership of Clive Dougall and Peter Lorimer is the culmination of years of passion and experience. We first crossed paths with Peter in the late 2000’s in London, and followed his career representing great Kiwi producers around the globe. Meanwhile, Clive was winemaker at Seresin for 12 years, leading Marlborough’s way in organic and biodynamic production. The outcome of their partnership? Stylish, organic expressions of great Marlborough vineyards. The fellas show they seriously understand the idea of drinkability, without forgoing interest or detail.
