This is one of Australia’s most celebrated reds. From the hot and dry 2020 vintage, it’s Cabernet predominant with Merlot (4%), Cabernet Franc (3%) and Malbec (1%). It’s concentrated in dark fruits with complexities of earth, iodine, rose and cedar. It has a balanced, supple nature, with the density and structure to see it through a few decades in your cellar.
The Cullen family are not only pioneers of wine growing in Margaret River, but also pioneers of organic and biodynamic production in Australia. Having been established by Kevin and Diana Cullen in Wilyabrup in the 1960s, their daughter Vanya has firmly established the estate as one of Australia’s best. They were the first estate to become certified carbon neutral, and with low yields, dry farming and an uncompromising commitment to quality.
