This orange wine is made from Macabeo with a splash of Gewürztraminer, with a week of skin contact giving it its lovely orange hue and moreish texture. Ripe stone fruit and marmalade lead the way, backed by hints of citrus peel and spice. It has a nicely balanced weight on the palate, with fresh acidity keeping the opulent fruit in check and a gentle tannic edge to finish.

Based in Somontano at the foothills of the Pyrenees in northern Spain, Bodegas Pirineos was established as a cooperative in 1964. In 2007 it joined the Barbadillo wine group, and is now made up of 150 small growers across 700 hectares in the region.
