Thymiopoulos Kayafas Xinomavro 2018

$125.00

If Barolo, Burgundy and Beaujolais are your jam, then this is a very worthy discovery. As well as its more red berried fruit profile, it has complex undertones of wild herbs, hot earth and spice. It's restained in density but the palate is built on a long line of grainy, firm Nebbiolo-like tannins. It's produced from a small single vineyard of 44 year old vines, planted on limestone, near the village of Trilofos in Náoussa.

For generations the Thymiopoulos family have been growing Xinomavro (pronounced See-no-mav-ro), the indigenous grape of the highly regarded Náoussa zone in Greece’s far North. Committed to organic and biodynamic farming, every wine they produce reflects the specificity of the parcel it originates from.
