Radburnd Cellars Syrah 2019
Seamless and elegant with beautiful fruit purity, this is one of Hawke's Bay’s best reds. It’s dark and dense in fruit, with spice and pretty florals, and the tannin is oh so fine and silky. It’s not a blockbuster, and better for it - there’s restraint and balance all the way. Fruit is sourced from the Bridge Pa Triangle and Roy’s Hill and is hand harvested in the cool of the night. The wine was aged in new and old French oak barriques for 16 months.
Legendary winemaker Kate Radburnd works with her daughter Penny to make these outstanding wines. Having dedicated her career to Hawkes Bay winemaking, carefully selected parcels of fruit from across the region couldn’t be in better hands. In Kate’s words - “Radburnd Cellars is a dream come true for me – and I don’t say that lightly. It’s incredibly invigorating to create a winery with a clean slate so we’re able to completely focus on making small parcels of the absolute best wines we can - and that’s something that I have wanted to do for a very long time.”
