Luigi Baudana Baudana Barolo 2016

$142.00

The Baudana vineyard is a tiny cru in the Barolo commune of Serralunga. Pure Nebbiolo from this terroir has been described as having a baritone profile. We see that in this wine, it’s rich and deep. Assertive tannin is lined with black fruit, dried cherry and tobacco. If you can, pop this in the cellar for a decade. If you can’t, decant it early in the day. Savour it with a meal of some kind of game bird for seriously sophisticated hedonism.

Luigi and Fiorina Baudana have dedicated themselves to their Barolo estate in the eastern part of this revered wine region. In fact the family have been wine growing there for so long there’s a classified cru named after them. Since their retirement in 2009, they’ve entrusted the Vajra family to be the guardian of their vineyards, name and story. And it couldn’t be in better hands, as this amazing wine family continue to strive for, and achieve excellence.
