F*ck yeah, the aromatics on this are something. Lemon peel, orchard fruits, chamomile, black pepper. It’s exuberance in fragrance is met by a very fresh, harmonious palate, that’s citrusy with a tea-like tannic structure. It’s a blend of local Sicilian varieties Zibibbo and Albanello, organically grown and fermented on skins for 2 weeks. It’s aged in concrete vats for 6 months before bottling.
Arianna Occhipinti came to love wine early in life, mentored by her uncle Giusto Occhipinti of famed winery COS, just down the road from Arianna’s estate. Having started with just one hectare of abandoned vines, her rise to prominence has been meteoric, now organically farming 23 hectares. Her wine styles are that of elegance, perfume and nervy energy.
