Set on steep, slate rich slopes, Hermannshöhle is one of Germany’s best Grosses Gewächs (grand cru) Riesling sites. Showing purity over power, tension over opulence, this has crystalline fruit, fine-boned structure, and that signature Nahe interplay of ripeness and minerality.

One of Germany’s great estates, the Donnhoff family have been farming their land in the Nahe region for 250 years, with the establishment of the wine estate in the 1920s. Cornelius Donnhoff now runs the show, and like his father Helmut, has a deep respect of place, and produces wines that truly express place. Their 25 hectares of vines are dry farmed and organically managed, and their approach to winemaking is unhurried and precise.
