Bright in dark fruits with a licouricey edge this is a satisfying glass of CDR. There’s a pleasing little chew in tannins, all coated with silky fruit. Classic blending partners Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, from certified organic vineyards, are vinified in concrete vats before ageing for one year.

This estate, set in the heart of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, is bloody old, established by descendants of the Lançon family in the 17th century. Now run by 8th generation Florent Lançon, Domaine de la Solitude is considered one of the best in this prestigious region, and is certified organic.
