A richly textured, exuberant but dry style of Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch in South Africa. There’s aromatics of stonefruit, orange, and pineapple, and the fullness in the palate is really well balanced by the wine’s freshness and pithy finish. Sonsteen or ‘sun stone’ refers to the granite stones throughout this vineyard of 1985-planted bush vines. The vineyard is unirrigated and the whole estate is in conversion to organic farming. 

Kaapzicht, or ‘Cape View’, is the 4th generation estate of the Steytler family. Established in 1947, they have some of the oldest Chenin Blanc plantings in South Africa. Their 80 hectare estate is based in the Bottelary Hills subregion of Stellenbosch, to the north west of Stellenbosch itself.
