The red wines of Rioja have a bit of a reputation for being old school, savoury and dry. But Spain's most high profile region in fact produces a really diverse range of styles. Including this charming medium bodied red. From a hilly sub region of Rioja Alavesa, Laderas (meaning hillside) has bright and densely fruited, with the gently grippy tannins we love from pure Tempranillo.

Made by two Masters of Wine, one of whom is Waiheke based Sam Harrop, we’ll safely see good drinking from this smart Spanish outfit in the hills of Rioja Alavesa for years to come.
