Greenhough Hope Vineyard Pinot Blanc 2022

$36.00

This is a bloody sophisticated glass of wine. Fleshy stone fruit and citrusy freshness meets creamy, mealy richness. The vines where planted yonks ago in 1976, and we’d suggest this vine age contributes to the inherent balance and harmony of the wine. Pinot Blanc has a few guises, and this one reminds us of a full fruited style of Chablis.

Andrew Greenhough and Jenny Wheeler left Auckland in 1991 to set up their Nelson estate on alluvial terraces in a place called Hope. With one hectare already planted at the site in 1976, they’ve expanded plantings of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay as their mainstays, with small blocks of Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Gewurztraminer. They are fully certified organic.
