Foradori Lezer 2022
A benchmark in the realm of light, chillable reds, this is brightly red fruited, with hints of spice and smoke. It’s crunchy and fresh to taste, with supple texture. Delightful. It’s a wine that came about in 2015 after hail hit Elisabetta Foradori’s vineyards hard. Elisabetta is a trailblazer in Italy, and showed her agility in creating this wine with what fruit was still in good nick. Given no more that 24 hours on skins, this is the native Trentino variety Teroldego at its lightest and brightest, blended with Schiava, Merlot and Lagrein.
From the foothills of the Dolomites in Trentino, Elisabetta Foradori has cemented her place as one of the leading producers in Italy. She has single-handedly revived the local variety Teroldego, and has been on the front foot in the region in the use biodynamic practices. With a focus on minimal interventin, she chooses inert vessels like clay amphora to allow the purity of these wines shine.
