Campbells Rutherglen Muscat NV 375ml
This is a highly underrated treasure of the Australian wine industry - Rutherglen Muscat. Late harvested, fortified and aged for 3 to 5 years in a solera system, it also represents remarkable value considering the time and effort involved. Rich in flavours of dried fruit and toffee, with moreish sweetness, we suggest getting out your best cheese platter, or favourite recipe for sticky date pudding.
Established in 1870, this estate is still in the hands of the Campbells family. They are based in Rutherglen at the north east corner of Victoria, on the border with New South Wales. While they produce unfortified, dry wines, we think their aged and fortified Muscats and Topaques are the stars of the show. Winemaking is in the hands of Julie Campbell who carries on with a long, consistent tradition of excellence.
