Atipico Sundial 2024
Sundial this year is a harmonious blend of Pinot Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Pinot Gris. In a sea of Sauvignon Blanc, it’s so refreshing to find playful, unique Marlborough whites like this. It’s pretty and forward in orange blossom, apple and nectarine aromatics. It has a very complete, medium bodied palate and a citrusy, persistent finish. We’ll be playing around with food pairings for it, and pork belly is up first. Organic fruit was foot stomped and soaked on skins overnight before being pressed to barrel.
While Jordan Hogg's Atipico label is fairly new, he is by no means new to wine growing. He was Young Winemaker of the Year in 2016, and has worked for organic Marlborough icons Seresin and Rock Ferry. Based in a region that could be described as our most commercial, we love that his wines are characterful and indeed atypical.
Organic, unfined, unfiltered, minimal added sulphites
