This is the kind of wine we open while we cook. It’s friendly, fresh and dry, and from the celebrated region of Piedmont, in Italy’s north west. Riesling and Favorita are the varieties here, the latter being pretty obscure and of Ligurian origin. 

San Silvestro is a 4th generation estate in Novella, the south western commune of Barolo. Paolo and Guido Sartirano have 7 hectares of vines, and in Piedmontese tradition, also have long standing contracts with organic growers in the region.
