Millton Te Arai Chenin Blanc 2021

$39.00

James Millton describes one of his defining moments with Chenin Blanc, “sitting around the press in 1984 pressing the last of the crop, and drinking a bottle of 1959 Moulin Touchais from Anjou. That’s when I realised the scope of these wines”. Millton Te Arai Chenin Blanc has, in turn become a benchmark for the variety in Aotearoa. This wine has complexity of flavour, with stone fruit, wild honey, red apple and florals. And it has a broad, generous palate that’s brought into line with lively, spikey freshness. Moreish.

James and Annie Millton are not only pioneers of the modern New Zealand wine industry, they’re also our first certified organic winegrower, and the oldest biodynamic producer in the Southern Hemisphere. From their Opou, Te Arai and Clos de Ste. Anne vineyards in Gisborne they produce energetic, textural wines that have an international following. James and Annie’s commitment to caring for their environment is matched by, and inextricably linked to the outstanding quality of wine they produce.
