Marathon Downs Racecourse Block Sauvignon Blanc 2021
Trust us when we say it’s time for you to revisit Sauvignon Blanc. And this wine is exactly why. It has beautiful texture and balance, a ripe flavour profile, all poised with the signature freshness of the variety. It’s grown up Marlborough Savvy B, barrel fermented for 10 months with partial malolactic fermentation and minimal added sulphites.
Marathon Downs is a station in the Awatere Valley that’s been in the hands of Jess Barnes’ family since being drawn from the ballot. Of the 400 hectares, 38 are planted with vines. Jess and her partner Nick Pett apply the extensive experience they’ve gained with other producers to great effect. Their Sauvignon and Pet-Nat are delicious and there’s more exciting new releases in the works. Stay tuned.
