This pristine, concentrated and energetic sweet wine really spins our wheels. With aromatics of ripe yellow stone fruit, pineapple, quince and ginger, the sweetness in the palate is matched by it's driven, vibrant freshness. Fruit comes from a steep, elevated site in the estate's Rocky Point vineyard. Cropped at ridiculously low levels, late harvested fruit is hand picked, and then dried out on mats in the winery, further concentrating flavours and sweetness. A lengthy wild yeast fermentation follows in a single barrel, with aging for 21 months. It's basically a winery accountant's nightmare, but further proof of the passion behind what Paul and the Prophet's Rock team do.

Winemaker Paul Pujol remembers the first time he saw snow on the ground in November at Prophet Rock’s Bendigo vineyards in Central Otago. The adage that the greatest wines come from marginal climates really plays out here. Having honed his craft with European legends (Maison Kuentz-Bas and Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé), Paul’s sophisticated expressions of this beautiful and extreme part of the world are among New Zealand’s best.
