This 12 year old single malt needs a few minutes in the glass before it really starts speaking out. Honey and citrus open up on the nose with fresh fruits of apple and pear following behind. The considered use of second refill bourbon casks allows the whisky to walk the line of sweetness and purity. The fruit becomes a little riper with the palate remaining fresh and clean. A great example of Lowland style. 

Situated just outside of Edinburgh the Glenkinchie distillery has been making whisky since 1837. A large amount of their production is used as blending components for some pretty famous whiskies labels. What they do produce as their single malt expressions are largely considered the benchmark of Lowland whisky.
