Kate has had a handle on blending the Bordeaux varieties in Hawkes Bay for yonks, demonstrated so astutely here. Beautifully concentrated, full of dark fruit and spice, this is both suptuous and elegant. Fruit was sourced from free draining, low yeilding vineyards in Bridge Pa and the old Ngaruroro River gravels. Hand harvested, hand sorted, foot stomped and fermented, this wine was aged in seasoned and new french oak for 21 months. 

Legendary winemaker Kate Radburnd works with her daughter Penny to make these outstanding wines. Having dedicated her career to Hawkes Bay winemaking, carefully selected parcels of fruit from across the region couldn’t be in better hands. In Kate’s words - “Radburnd Cellars is a dream come true for me – and I don’t say that lightly. It’s incredibly invigorating to create a winery with a clean slate so we’re able to completely focus on making small parcels of the absolute best wines we can - and that’s something that I have wanted to do for a very long time.”
