Felsina Chianti Classico Riserva 2020
For Chianti with intensity and power, this is hands down your go to. Classico refers to the originally defined area of Chianti, where the most prestigious estates like Felsina are established. Being Riserva guarantees that this wine has had at least 2 years in barrel and 3 months in bottle before release. Decant a few hours before drinking to best experience this stunning expression of Tuscan sun and terracotta soils.
Felsina Berardenga produce the epitome of southern styles of Chianti Classico. Being warmer and based further from cooling westerly sea breezes, the wines are structured, dense expressions of Sangiovese, more akin to Brunello di Montalcino. At Felsina, 60 hectares of vines are grown using organic practices, as part of a much bigger 470 hectare estate of forest, olives groves and wheat fields. It has been in the hands of Giuseppe Mazzocolin’s family since 1966.
