Domaine Charvin Côtes-du-Rhône 2019

A classic, Grenache predominant wine from a 40 year old Côtes-du-Rhône vineyard. It’s medium bodied with fragrant fruit, spice and charm. Think slow-cooked Lamb shoulder and tomato-based pasta dishes.

Domaine Charvin have been winegrowing for bloody ages, since 1851. It wasn’t until 1990 that the family seriously started their own label. They have small vineyard holdings of old vines in famed Châteauneuf-du-Pape, as well as Côtes-du-Rhône. With vineyards on cooler north-facing slopes, and them being staunch traditionalists, the wines are an understated, elegant expression of the southern Rhone.
