Hopesgrove Le Petit Syrah 2023
Answering your call for chillable reds, this is bright and crunchy, with a lifted, botanical nose. There's a little peppery note to the palate that's super supple and light. Organic fruit was given a short maceration of 10 days during ferment, with mostly whole berries (and no stems).
Having been enamoured with Hawkes Bay on a visit from the States, the Koopman family decided to move to the region, and planted vines at their Pakipaki property in 2005. Since then, Pieter Koopman has cemented himself as one of the go-to winemakers in the region. They’re guided by organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyard. With daughter Annabelle, and her Belgium partner Bart now on board, as well as classically framed styles, they're released a light and alternative take on estate grown Syrah.
