Testalonga Sweet Cheeks Muscat 2018
Not afraid to experiment, Craig and Cara Hawkins of Testalonga first took Muscat d’Alexandrie, otherwise grown for table grapes, and fermented it on skins in 2013. Safe to say it was a success. This 2018 has the varieties inviting, lifted, floral and honeyed aromatics. The palate is supple, rich and round with a pithy grip and citrusy freshness to finish.
In the midst of South Africa's established wine industry, Testalonga are an exciting, fresh face. They're situated in the Swartland region, just north of Cape Town in a province called the Western Cape. Craig and Cara Hawkins of Testalonga have been making wine since 2008 and are highly regarded as the pioneers of skin contact winemaking in South Africa. Organic farming was a non negotiable from the very beginning, and mininal intervention is the go here, as they simply state on their labels, Testalonga wines are "Made from Grapes" only.
Organic, unfined, unfiltered, minimal added sulphites
