What is orange wine?

Orange wine is made by giving white grape varieties contact with their skins, usually for fermentation and possibly longer. This is as opposed to classic white wine making where the juice is pressed from the skins before fermentation. Not only is a warm orange/amber colour extracted from skins, but also a host of delicious flavour compounds. You might find more exotic, lifted aromatics, fuller body, and little more grip and dryness on the finish.
