If you’ve not delved into reds from Mount Etna then start right here. It shows the fragrant pretty side of Nerello Mascalese, with cherry and raspberry underscored flavours of bitter orange, tea and hot earth. We love its light, translucent nature. Its made from Etna natives Nerello Mascalese (95%) and Nerello Cappuccio (5%).

Tenuta delle Terre Nere was established by Marco de Grazia in the late 1990s. He saw the potential of old vine plantings, some over 100 years old, on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, and his wines have quickly become some of the islands most celebrated. Sicily’s warm climate is moderated by altitude, with the 45 hectares of vines spread across 29 plots sitting between 800 and 900 metres above sea level.
