Luta Shadow Pinot Noir 2021

$50.00

There's serious depth here, with its dark, plummy fruit profile, spice and earthiness. What we love the most is the fine but firm texture of the tannin, and how compact it is. Some Kiwi Pinot offers immediacy, this offers you something to contemplate and watch unfold. Organic, Moutere fruit is hand harvested. Careful consideration is given to each clone, but it amounts to fermention with 70% whole bunches. Aging was in old french barriques for 10 months, with a further 6 months in stainless steel before bottling.

From their 5 hectare, organic vineyard in Nelson, Rob and Kate Burley produce balanced, bright wines in a range of styles. Rob draws on his depth of experience having worked for the likes of Patrick Sullivan and Bill Downie in Australia, and at the renowned wine bar Terroir in London. While his Unkel releases are supple, fun and approachable, his Luta wines display a seriousness and depth that place them among New Zealand's best.
