Putting the bright in Bryterlater, this Pinot Noir rosé has lovely fruit weight and lively freshness. Fruit is sourced from the Luxton vineyard. Part direct pressed, part carbonic maceration, with a portion of 2022 Brambles blended in, this is thoughtfully composed, serious stuff.

Nick Drake recorded an ethereal studio album in 1970 called Bryterlater. Ethereal too are James Opie’s Bryterlater releases from North Canterbury. Sourcing organic fruit from vineyards around the region, James produces wines that respect the varied nature of each growing season, and that are produced, as James says, “with patience in the vineyard and patience in the winery.”
