La Tosa Riodeltordo Bianco 2021

$35.00

The folks at La Tosa sum this up as being ‘destined to be an everyday table wine’. We think that under sells it a bit, but we get what they mean. It’s fresh, super dry and immediate. It’s not overtly fruity, and has a delicious saline quality that will keep you quaffing. It’s made from Malvasia di Candia, Ortugo, Trebbiano and a pinch of Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is named after the small river Rio del Tordo that flows through the vineyards.

La Tosa is a small estate in Emilia-Romagna, a region sandwiched in between Milan and Florence in the north of Italy. Brothers Stefano and Ferruccio Pizzamiglio bought the estate in the 1980s in Vigolzone, their mother’s hometown. They practice organic farming, and aim to produce wines with minimal intervention and minimal additions.
