Matteo Correggia Roero Nebbiolo 2017

This is astonishing value for Nebbiolo, everything you expect from the grape with a pretty nose of red fruits and spices. On the palate its intense and concentrated with a serious edge. This Roero red is from the Correggia vineyards located in Canale, the Nebbiolo aged 10 months in stainless steel then another 12 months in small old oak barrels.

The winery was born in 1985, when Matteo Correggia inherited the family-owned estate from his father. Matteo was a pioneer in the region of Roero, typically wines made in Roero were drank only in Roero. Matteo had a bigger vision for the region, being part of a group of producers which were the driving force behind the ‘modernist movement’ throughout Piedmont. In June 2001, a tragic work accident  ended Matteo’s life. Since then, Ornella Costa Correggia and her son Giovanni have been dedicated to continuing Matteo's vision for wines from Roero.
