Layered and complex with flavours of blackcurrant, wild herbs, spice and earth, the tannins here are fine, underpinned by minerality. It’s a beautiful balance of Mediterranean richness, and elegance. A blend of over a dozen varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Tannat and a selection of rare Mediterranean grapes - it’s about expression of place, rather than variety. The fruit comes from limestone soils of the estate’s vineyards, cooled by the nearby Grangeon stream. Each variety is hand-harvested and fermented separately, with maturation in large oak foudres before blending.

Daumas Gassac was founded in 1974 by Aimé and Véronique Guibert after discovering an exceptional limestone terroir near Aniane, in the Hérault region of the Languedoc. Initially considered an unlikely site for fine wine, the estate went on to become one of France’s most celebrated independent wineries, proving that the Languedoc could produce wines of world-class quality and longevity. Now guided by the Guibert family’s next generation, Mas de Daumas Gassac remains a benchmark for the region, known for its commitment to biodiversity, organic farming principles and a non-conformist approach that celebrates forgotten grape varieties and true expression of place.
