Il Poggione Vigna Paganelli Riserva Brunello di Montalcino 2015

It all adds up to greatness here. Sangiovese from a single vineyard planted in 1964, produced by one of Brunello’s best. From the celebrated 2015 vintage, this Riserva is given at least 2 years in French oak and 4 years in bottle before release. It has beautiful aromatics of dark fruit, smoke, spice, black olive and undergrowth. There’s power, but with finesse. Malleable tannin and freshness ensure this will age majestically.

Il Poggione has been in the hands of the Franceschi family since its inception in the 1890’s. Based on hills below the town of Sant’Angelo in Colle, Tuscany, the varied elevations and microclimates ensure the consistency of quality that this large, iconic estate is known for.
