Harakeke Farm Chardonnay 2016
We’ve seen the great potential of the clay soils of the upper Moutere in Nelson from producers like Tim and Judy Finn at Neudorf. And this Chardonnay from Harakeke Farm further proves it. Delivering in flavour and body, there is ripe stone fruit, generous oak use, density and structure.
Planting just 3 of the 13 hectares that Joanne Costar and Andrew Sutherland bought in 2006, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are planted on north facing slopes. In the gullies and on the steep slopes of the property this couple continue to replant Harakeke and other natives.
