Pear, apricot, quince and peach alongside grapefruit, ginger, hazelnut and a subtle saline finish. It’s textured and complex, with savoury, saline depth and fresh acidity keeps the wine lively. A blend of varieties typical of Alsace, Pinot Gris and Sylvaner, it is however atypical in its making. The Sylvaner is aged in a solera - a system of continuous blending across multiple vintages, bringing the gentle nutty, saline character. The subsequent vintage of Pinot Gris is blended for each release.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEstablished in 1708, Charles Frey took over this small estate in Alsace, in the north east of France, from his father in 1958. Charles' sons have since converted the vineyards to biodynamic practices, and now the grandchildren are involved.
