Cappella Sant'Andrea Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2018
With lush flavours of ripe apricots and a zesty, clean finish, this wine conjures images of afternoons sipping by the pool of some Italian Villa. It’s made from organic vineyards near the very beautiful medieval town of San Gimignano in Tuscany.
Vernaccia as a variety sits in a category similar to Pinot Gris, Albariño or Vermentino. It’s capable of being full flavoured but is also freshly driven. It’s a family affair at Cappella Sant’Andrea and they sum up their approach to organic wine growing beautifully -
‘Accompanying the grape on its path toward becoming wine means being keepers of an ancient art. One that interprets a place and its traditions and becomes its witness. A bottle of wine is capable of preserving all this beauty’.
