Ata Rangi Crimson Pinot Noir 2019

$38.00

Ata Rangi’s Crimson was originally made from their young vines in support of Project Crimson, the charitable trust working to replant and preserve pōhutukawa and rātā trees. The support for conservation efforts continue, and this wine looks more and more sophisticated every year. It’s generous and dense in fruit. But there’s depth there too, both in gentle suggestions of earthy undergrowth, and in the satisfying, structured tannin. Impressive wine of truly great value.

Pioneers of Aotearoa grown Pinot Noir and of the Martinborough wine region, Ata Rangi remain one of our best. The estate was established and is owned by Clive Paton, Phyll Pattie and Alison Paton, with winemaking in the hands of Helen Masters. Basically, the wines are shit-hot. The Pinots in particular. They’re wines of detail, complexity and intrigue and they age beautifully. The Home vineyard is certified organic, with more on the way.
