Ascheri Gusto Della Solidarieta 2019
There is so much to love about this light Northern Italian red, ‘A Taste of Solidarity’. It’s made as part of a Torino-based project supporting local charities. Made from the obscure variety Pelaverga, it’s all about the bright red fruit aromatics, but what we’re most drawn to is the Smokey mezcal-like undertone.
Produced in Piedmont in the North West of Italy, this estate, established in 1880, is still in family hands, with Matteo Ascheri overseeing the production of low intervention expressions of the region’s signature varieties.
