In 2018, a new distillery fired up its stills and began making some pretty impressive whisky. That distillery is Ardnahoe. It is the brainchild of the Laing family, the people behind Hunter Laing, independent bottlers with whisky street cred going back decades. In 2015, they bought a large chunk of land and secured water from Loch Ardnahoe. From the outset, it has positioned itself firmly in classic Islay territory, producing peated single malt using copper pot stills, long fermentations and worm tub condensers.
