Alfredo Maestro Amanda Rosado de Larima 2020

We don’t want to pigeon hole this Garnacha based wine, but the maker himself calls it Rosé (or Rosado in Spain). But….. it’s on the more structured side of Rosé, or the very very light end of red wine. Take it for what it is, unique and delicious. It has flavours of raspberry, smoke and Campari. There’s some palate weight, with a gentle grip and freshness. Seriously, give it a whirl. Serve chilled.

In a region prone to making overripe, overworked, over-oaked wines, Alfredo Maestro is the antidote. Growing up among vines, and having started his own Ribera del Duero production in 1998, he quickly learnt that he wanted to make wines with less artifice, additions and intervention. He now produces wines from a range of vineyards in Castilla y Leon that are organic and biodynamically farmed. The wines are considered but generously flavoured, with no additions made.

Organic, biodynamic, no additives, unfined, unfiltered
