Alta Alella Pansa Blanca 2018
The wines we produce in New Zealand are often made in an abundantly fruit forward style. By contrast wines like this have an austere and saline quality. We’d say it’s quenching rather than quaffy. Drink this early in the meal.... or early in the day perhaps.
Alta Alella are an organic producer based in Alella, the closest wine region to Barcelona. The variety Pansa Blanca, otherwise known as Xarel.lo, is more commonly used to make Cava, the main sparkling wine of Spain. Having worked with these wines in London, we were so thrilled find them being imported here.
