Donnafugata Ben Ryé Passito di Pantelleria 375ml
One of the most delightful, curious things ever bottled. Nectar of the Gods right here. This little specialty comes from the Italian island of Pantelleria, to the south of Sicily. Dense and devilishly sweet, it's the Zibibbo grape at its best, abundant in flavours of apricot, candied orange peel, honey and wild herbs.
Grown in pretty remarkable conditions, each vine is planted in its own hole in the ground, to protect it from wind, salt and heat. Hand harvested, late picked fruit is laid out on mats to dehydrate, turned daily for 20 days, before fermentation. It’s an expensive, time consuming process. But, it’s worth every single cent and second. You’ll certainly want to savour it.
