Carrick Pas de Souci 2021

Pas de Souci means ‘no worries’ in French, and it’s an appropriate name for this drop. No additives. No filtering or fining. No worries. It's bright and full of red fruits. It’s crunchy, fresh and delicious. Thinking about wine in a less binary way, this sits somewhere in between full Rosé and light Red. Three Pinots (Noir, Gris and Blanc) are fermented together and left on skins for 30 day in a flower pot. Serve a little chilled on a warm summer’s night.

Carrick is the full shebang in our books; wines produced from single-site, certified organic vineyards in one of the most beautiful wine growing regions in the world. Based in Bannockburn, Central Otago, winemaker Rosie Menzies and viticulturist Cliff Wickman head up the production of Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and of course Pinot Noir. From a recent visit, we sense this already excellent producer is going from strength to strength.
